Matchday sixteen sees the Linnets return to home soil, with Spennymoor travelling to Norfolk in what is sure to be an enthralling encounter.

The Moors have had recent success at the Docherty Walks Stadium, winning their last three games in West Norfolk. They are yet to win on the road this campaign, so with recent history showing positives for the Moors, is this the chance where they can finally give the travelling fans three points to go home with?

Seven matches on the road so far this campaign have seen the Moors collect just two points, coming from a one-all draw at Morecambe on the opening day and a Desmond draw at Haig Avenue against Southport just over a month ago.

Glen Taylor is the ever-present talisman for the Moors, having netted four times already this season, with one coming from 12 yards. He has been with Spennymoor since July 2015. Since then, he has made over four hundred and fifty appearances for the Moors, scoring over two hundred goals in his time at Brewery Field. Taylor has scored over fifteen goals in seven of the last nine campaigns, including twenty-two goals last campaign when the Moors finished just five points off the play-offs.

This season has been very different for Spennymoor compared to last campaign. They sit rock bottom of the National League North, already six points from safety. Racking up just ten points so far this campaign, the Moors have won just twice, collecting four draws and losing eight. They sit on a minus-thirteen goal difference at the moment, the worst in the league, having conceded the joint-second-highest number of goals this campaign.

Things could be on the up, though, for the County Durham outfit, as last time out they picked up three points on home turf. Beating Chorley by two goals to nil, they ended an eleven-match unbeaten run in the league. They went just over two months without a win in the league, so after a brilliant performance at home to the Magpies, in a game which also saw Spennymoor earn their first clean sheet of the campaign, they will travel to the Docherty Walks Stadium in incredibly high spirits.

For King's Lynn Town, a superb performance on the road last Saturday saw Paul Caddis return to his former club, Hereford, and pick up three important points after his side scored three wonderfully taken goals. Kwame Thomas was thrown to the ground from a corner routine just eleven minutes into the game, meaning referee John Mulligan had no choice but to point to the spot. A minute later, Thomas slotted the ball home from twelve yards, sending Hereford keeper Theo Richardson the wrong way to open the scoring.

Then, just four minutes later, Thomas and Lynn had their second. Courageous play down the right-hand side saw Ross Crane plant a splendid ball to the back post, where Kwame Thomas was able to direct the ball back goalwards before watching it nestle in the side netting.

Hereford piled on the pressure towards the end of the half, but all they could do was place the ball onto a Lynn defender before the half-time whistle arrived.

The second half began and the pressure kept coming, but Lynn dealt with it comfortably. One chance down the right-hand side saw Ross Crane turn his man inside out before flicking it inside for Aaron Jones to whistle the ball into the far corner. Three-nil Lynn.

That's how the game ended, as the Linnets held strong and deservedly took three precious points back to West Norfolk.

That's now six wins, two draws and two losses since the 31st of August for King's Lynn Town. A run of games that sees the West Norfolk outfit sit sixth in the league table, just inside the play-offs after fifteen games.

With FA Cup action taking place this weekend, Oxford City and Macclesfield are the only sides in the top seven of the National League North that will be competing in the First Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup. Both sides have huge ties this weekend, with John Rooney's side travelling to Mansfield and Oxford City hosting former Premier League champions Leicester City at the MGroup Stadium.

Wow, that just goes to show how crazy football is!

The reason why that is important in the context of the game between King's Lynn Town and Spennymoor Town is because, if Lynn manage to secure all three points, they will go level on points with Oxford City and Macclesfield, albeit both of those sides will have at least two games in hand on Paul Caddis' side.

With incredibly tough games during the run-up to Christmas for Lynn, Saturday's game against Spennymoor is a valuable opportunity to add points to their tally. That busy run-up to Christmas includes fixtures against Morecambe, an in-form Radcliffe side, Macclesfield, South Shields, Harborough and Chester. But, as I have already justified, this Saturday's game will not be an easy test.

A one-nil victory for the Moors at the Docherty Walks towards the back end of last campaign put Lynn into more unwanted danger of the drop zone. Spennymoor gave Paul Caddis his first home defeat as Lynn boss back in late March of this year. A game that only had the one goal in it, but a game that had lots of action.

Olly Dyson was sent off for a harsh and clumsy challenge towards the latter stages of the first half, which fed the home crowd with excitement of getting a much-needed win in their quest for survival. However, that was not the case.

That man Glen Taylor picked his pocket and fired past Aaron Chapman thirteen minutes into the second half. The Moors then faced the rest of the game with Lynn attacking constantly, but the Linnets were never able to hurt Spennymoor's clean-sheet hopes. So, ten-man Spennymoor clinched a third successive win at the Docherty Walks.

You'd hope this game would be a very different story, though, as Lynn have one of the most in-form attacks in the league at the moment and will be full of confidence after the win at Edgar Street last weekend.

Eight players have contributed to Lynn's twenty-five goals so far this season, with fan favourite Jesse Nwabueze leading the goal tally at the moment with six. Ubaezuonu, who scored three against AFC Telford United in a five-nil victory in September, has five goals to his name this season, with Kwame Thomas on four, doubling his tally with those two goals at Hereford.

It's most certainly not a game to be missed this weekend. It will be full of action, and we need your support to get us across the line.

Your support has been incredible, and we do not take it for granted. We hope to share another fantastic afternoon together on Saturday.

See you at The Walks, Lynn fans!

Up the Lynn!!!
