King’s Lynn Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead.
Ronnie joins the Linnets as our fourth signing of the summer.
Born in Hereford, Ronnie joined West Bromwich Albion as a schoolboy in 2015 and spent a decade with the Baggies' academy, regularly featuring for their Under-21 side.
During his time at West Brom, Ronnie gained his first taste of senior football with two spells at Step 3 level, initially with Hednesford Town before joining Alvechurch on loan.
After leaving West Brom, Ronnie signed for Midlands rivals Aston Villa in August 2025, where he enjoyed a successful season in Premier League 2. He was also named on the bench for Aston Villa’s Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion in December.
Still only 21 years old, Ronnie is a Wales youth international. He made his Wales Under-21 debut at the age of 18 in 2023, coming off the bench against Liechtenstein.
Linnets manager Paul Caddis had this to say about Ronnie’s arrival:
“We’re delighted to welcome Ronnie Hollingshead to the club. Ronnie is a young goalkeeper with an excellent pedigree, having come through the academies at West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa, and he arrives with valuable experience of men’s football following a successful loan spell at Alvechurch.
What really stood out to us is Ronnie’s comfort on the ball and his technical ability. The way we want to play this season demands a goalkeeper who is confident in possession and capable of helping us build from the back, and Ronnie fits that profile perfectly.
He has also benefited from being part of Aston Villa’s Europa League-winning squads and has trained regularly alongside the first team, learning from one of the world’s best goalkeepers in World Cup winner Emiliano Martínez. Those experiences will have been invaluable in his development.
Ronnie is an ambitious young player with a tremendous attitude and a real desire to improve. I’m looking forward to working with him, and I have no doubt he will play a huge part in our plans moving forward. We’re excited to see him continue his development here and help drive the club forward.”
