King's Lynn Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Zak Mills. Zak joins us as our second summer signing and arrives with extensive National League and EFL experience.
Born in Peterborough, Zak came through the Boston United youth ranks before making his professional debut in 2010 for Histon Town. Where he made over 100 appearances across four years before a switch to Boston United in 2014, joining his boyhood club in his first of two spells for the Lincolnshire club.
After two years at Boston, Zak signed for League 2 side Grimsby Town, where he went on to make over 60 appearances for The Mariners across two seasons. Following his departure from Grimsby, Zak enjoyed a successful spell in the Football League, representing Morecambe, Port Vale, Oldham Athletic and Walsall. At the end of the 2018/19 Season, Zak was named as Morecambe FC's Player of the Year.
In 2022, Zak returned to Boston United, where over four years, he made another 100 appearances for the Pilgrims, taking his overall tally to beyond 200 appearances. Zak was named Boston United's Player of the Year at the end of the 2024/25 season and served as their club captain last campaign.
Zak had this to say on signing for King's Lynn Town:
"I like to think that I can bring something to the squad, on and off it. Whether that's helping the young lads or leading on the pitch.
I'll give my all, I'm a leader and I will put my body on the line for the club and I'm looking forward to getting going."
Linnets Manager Paul Caddis had this to say about the signing of Zak Mills:
“I am absolutely delighted to secure the signing of Zak Mills. He’s a player with outstanding experience and a proven track record at this level, and his qualities will be a huge asset to the group.
Zak is a natural leader who sets high standards every day and has a winning mentality that will help drive the squad forward. His experience, professionalism and character will be just as valuable off the pitch as they will be on it.
He combines calmness in possession with the aggression and competitiveness needed to be a top defender, and we’re excited to see what he can bring to the team. There was significant interest in Zak, so we’re pleased he’s chosen to be part of what we’re building here.”
